researching CREATIVE COMMUNITIES IN COLLABORATION

Dr. Miranda Campbell’s research and creative projects investigate how creativity and cultural production enable resilience and strength in communities.. Her research highlights and raises the visibility of emergent and community-based responses to social, economic, political, and cultural problems. She is invested in community pedagogies, community arts, and enhancing the wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Miranda is also inspired by everyday creativity, social engagement, and small acts of care.

Miranda is an Associate Professor in the School of Creative Industries and Graduate Program Director of the Communication and Culture graduate program at Toronto Metropolitan University. Her involvement with creative communities includes coordination and Board of Director roles with Rock Camp for Girls Montreal, a summer camp dedicated to empowerment for girls through music education, and with WhipperSnapper Gallery, an artist-run centre focusing on emerging artists in Toronto.
